Purpose: The primary purpose of this assignment is to increase student awareness on the definition, prevalence, assessment of various clinical issues and disorders affecting children and youth, impact on family systems, implications for social work practice as well as a possible intervention. It is assumed that students will work together (not separately) on this paper. Therefore, student pairs should be sure that the presentation is coherent and not redundant in any way. One student in each pair will submit the PowerPoint presentation on iLearn. Once assigned, students will begin to research the issue, focusing on definition of the problem, prevalence/scope of the problem (Hint: see Data Resources), possible assessment measures, impacts on the family system, and implications for social workers. Instructions: Pairs of students will upload the PPT presentation to iLearn in advance of the presentation. The PPT file should be uploaded with the file name (LastnameFirstname_Lastname-Firstname_CYF-Presentation). PowerPoint must also include all references in APA format on the last slide. Students will be assessed by the course instructor on SW 415: Social Work With Children, Youth and Families Course Syllabus, Fall 2019 13 content, clarity, relevance, and professional dress and language.
